Hi, I'm Naomi and I'm a Mum Coach.
I empower Mum's with all the tools and techniques to overcome common emotional health difficulties from birth and beyond.
When my son was born, after a traumatic birth experience (and a heap load of baggage) I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I found the transition from happy-go-lucky free spirit to Mother incredibly difficult. The life change hit me like a ton of bricks and sent me into a panic. I thought I was the only one that had ever gone through this and berated myself for feeling this way.
So, I've been on a bit of a mission to find a way to ease other Mums through that big life change. After going through my own personal therapy journey, learning a heap load about my own thought patterns and coming out the other side, I wanted to use my experiences and training to help other people just like me.
I began my mission by running perinatal mental health support groups; campaigning for better perinatal healthcare; and volunteering for the NHS to advocate changes in maternity and antenatal care.
Through this voluntary work, I've met many Mums just like me. That felt out of control in the labour ward. Feel out of their depth in parenting. Berate themselves for not being the 'perfect' Mum. Put heaps of pressure on themselves. Are constantly second guessing themselves. Have no confidence in their abilities. Worry constantly what other people think. Basically, us Mum's don't know how to cut ourselves some slack.
In my own experience and from what I've learnt from other Mum's, in my opinion, this training is by far and wide the most effective for treating and keeping at bay common emotional health conditions.
